Transformation Workshop

With rapidly changing demographics in the region, a need was felt to bring about a change in Teaching and Learning methodologies in Schools, bringing them abreast with the times. A Transformation workshop was held in May 2022, facilitated by experts to co-create the future transformation ambition and journey of the schools. This included the Management Committee, senior teachers, notable alumni, senior students, parents & community to enhance ownership, commitment & pride while understanding and identifying local issues and challenges. The outcome was condensed into six work streams, which are:

Focus

Renewal of Schools is envisioned by introducing Modern Teaching Techniques coupled with Learning Transformation for Students of DAV Sr. Secondary School & DAV Public School (MC Jolly) and Introduce Digital Literacy and encouraging Vocational Courses early on at middle school to prepare students for multiple career options in employment and entrepreneurial ventures.

Workshop

hereby they use internet for research; MS Office (Excel; PowerPoint & Word); online teaching tools; digital communication, creativity and innovation and digital media leverage. Integrating ICT in classrooms is focused on teachers learning ICTs for classrooms; applications & software for digital content and subject aligned educational games. Development of Technical & pedagogical skills for teachers to help them understand the purpose of using ICT in classrooms; implementing group-learning pedagogies with digital resources; interdisciplinary project using ICT and digital lesson plans. This will be achieved by Training select group of Teachers as Master trainers for a duration of three months.

Students through mapping class-wise subjects to digital content and enhancing digital literacy learning basics of MS Office. New age experiential learning through application, e.g. study of botany through gardening or physical through cycle repair or robotics. Exposure through school exchange programs. This will require multi use SMART Classrooms and Labs where training will be conducted, and projects will be implemented using Computer, Projector, Speaker system, White board etc.
